The house is located in the central area of Cluj-Napoca, it is dated from the interwar period and built in 1935. It is integrated part of a complex of houses with a common courtyard. The 140 sqm house develops on two stories, ground floor and attic, and it has a west orientation towards the street.
The project unfolds a space for a family with 2 children in a minimalist and functional manner, covering all its present needs. The functional scheme is typical for the houses built in the interwar period, which imply in this case the spaces follow one another. On the ground floor, there is a entrance hallway, a technical room, the kitchen, dining room, the living room and a small bathroom. The whole design of the ground floor shapes the solution for integrating the two major elements of the project, the concrete ceiling and reused natural brick walls.
The natural light and warm palette resulted from this solution emphasise the major elements, contrasted by black and gold accents. Another present element on the ground floor is the metal staircase which leads to the attic, where we find the sleeping area consisting of two children bedrooms with adjoining dressing rooms, a bathroom and master bedroom with adjoining dressing room and bathroom.
