The project began with the idea of creating an installation that would raise awareness about recycling and the issue of waste, designed to remain in place throughout the four days of the festival. The answer soon took shape as a temporary pavilion, with a discreet presence next to Bánffy Castle, conceived to be “recycled” itself through its use over several years as a stage for Electric Castle, as well as by the students of Bonțida school as a space for outdoor classes, breaks and school celebrations.

Rather than designing a form that would lock the space into a single scenario, the aim was to create a place capable of accommodating a variety of uses.

The tight timeframe meant that the architects also became builders, engaging in a design-and-build process.
